The wxFan Project

The wxFan Project is maintained by Eric (ninfan). The project collects METAR (Aviation Routine Weather Report; thought to be a contraction of the French words MÉTéorologique ["Weather"] Aviation Régulière ["Routine"]) Data from various places around the United States of America. The data received from these stations are then converted to line graphs using Multi Router Traffic Grapher, or just simply MRTG. MRTG is free software for monitoring and measuring the traffic load on network links. With the use of some scripting the wxFan Project was created and able to graph any received METAR data. The wxFan Project has been monitoring and recording METAR Data since April 12^th, 2004.
